KTM AMA National Adventure Riding Series: Perry Mountain Tower Run

Dual Sport Route:

The Dual Sport offers a challenging route route that will be a GPS and Roll Chart mapped route with some of the trail sections also marked with arrows and ribbon. Here at Perry Mountain, we host many national enduros, harescrambles and vintage races year round, so we have hundreds of miles of great challenging singletrack trails to take you down. We also will venture out on some surrounding properties and get you out on some of the National Forest roads for fast and fun breather sections. Each day, you will get a good mix of challenging single track trail, fast flowing trails, jeep roads and wide open National forest roads. This route is great for those with lots of off-road riding experience. It's the retired enduro racer's dream! We have a very diverse landscape here in Central Alabama, so be prepared for hills, deep sand, rocks, mud, ruts, roots and everything else between. Our Dual Sport route is best suited for smaller dirt bike style dual sports. (WR250R, DRZ400, KTM 350, etc), but can also be tackled by experienced riders on larger dual sports (XR650, DR650, KTM 690, etc). Barkbusters, full DOT knobbies and fuel range of 50+ miles is highly recommended. You are free to ride the route at your own pace, so find a group of friends to ride with and take breaks when you feel the need! This ride will give you two days full the best off road riding in the southeast... you'll be sure to leave feeling you got your money's worth!

Adventure Route:

The Adventure route is slightly more mild tempered than the Dual Sport route, but dont let that fool you! We still get down and dirty and this ride will make you test the limits of you and your bike! The Adventure route will be led in groups led by Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club members, our Adventure route will lead you through thousands of acres of Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club property, the neighboring Talladega National Forest and surrounding rural areas. Most of what we will be ride is dirt / gravel forest roads (some maintained, some not) with some paved road sections as well through the beautiful Central Alabama countryside. Be prepared for everything from pavement, hard-packed forest roads, loose dirt, rocks, sand and possibly mud depending on the weather conditions. Generally, our Adventure groups like to carry a fast and fun pace and take occasional breaks to rest, check out the scenery, etc. The Adventure route is best suited for off-road friendly adventure bikes and large dual sports (KTM Adv bikes, Africa Twin, Vstrom, BMW GS, KLRs, XR 650, DR650, KTM 690, etc). 50/50 tires and 75 mile fuel range is necessary. We also have lots of smaller bikes join us. (WR250R, DRZ400, KTM 350, etc). If you’re on a smaller bike and looking for a fun ride that’s not as challenging as our singletrack-filled dual sport route option, then come on and join us on the adventure ride! You won’t be the only one on a smaller bike, and you wont regret it!
